The film opens with a potent and succinct rap set to graphics that pretty much sum up the political tragedy that is contemporary America. This alone makes the film worth seeing.

Then the first third of the film depicts the disenfranchisement of African Americans (in Florida and Ohio) during the past two presidential elections. Although well informed of the issue, I have not seen many testimonials of Black Americans who were blocked against voting, nor much about the community activism to counter government corruption. Very compelling.

The rest of the film follows Georgian Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney in her efforts to expose the Bush adminstration -- and the backlash that she receives. The film offers good analysis of the mainstream media and dumbfounding tactics of the Bushies. McKinney's willingness to speak truth to power is impressive, and though an uneven film, it is maddening and inspiring to watch her victories and defeats.
