Over the weekend I had the opportunity to attend the L.A. Times/UCLA Festival of Books. While I was there I had an opportunity to listen to Sherman Alexie talk about his newest book "Flight" the story of a disassociated Indian youth on the verge of falling apart. While I will not go into the specifics of the book for anyone who is interested in reading the book. I will say that in the wake of the recent tragedy at Virginia Tech this book offers a bit of insight to what the young man at VT may have been thinking or feeling. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Its 181 pages long and I burned through it in about 5 hours of solid reading.

Hi Dominic! Yes, I agree; Alexie's new book for "young adults" is very relevant in the wake of the VT murders. It is a startling book, engrossing as well -- moving at such a rapid pace, each page packed with twists and turns. At once humorous and horrifying, brutal and big-hearted... Read it, read it , read it.
