Creative Interpretations:

In American Indian Literature, students will either “teach the class” or do a “creative interpretation.” This is not the “easy way out.” Challenge yourself.

Goals:
1) Artist connects through the subject through the medium of their choice: animation, video, illustrations (three), culinary, sculpture, web-design etc.
2) The creation aims to further our aesthetic or imaginative understanding of the literature or culture.
3) The artistic interpretation is the product of time, thought and effort.
4) Attention should be paid to technique, quality and scope
5) Present and discussion the creation in terms of its connection to the literature and/or culture, your inspiration or motivation, methods, techniques and goals. You can ask us questions as well.

How it works:

You will be asked to share you creative interpretation before or after the reading. Put up visual art at the beginning of class so we can enjoy and contemplate it throughout.

If you are cooking, make enough for everyone to sample.
